Building Something That Doesn't Quite Fit a Box

Creating something that feels true, even if it's different.

This week has been one of those weeks where I've asked myself more questions than I've answered.

When you create something that doesn't neatly fit into an existing category, it's easy to wonder whether you've made it too complicated.

Is it a retreat?

Is it website design?

Is it coaching?

Is it wellness?

The more I thought about it, the more I realised I've been asking the wrong question.

Maybe it doesn't need to fit into a box at all.

The women I hope to welcome aren't looking for "just" a website. If they were, they'd simply hire a designer.

They're not looking for "just" a weekend away either.

They're looking for the space to finally make progress on something that's been quietly waiting in the background while life has carried on around it.

Between work, family, endless to-do lists and everything else that fills our days, our own ambitions often become the thing we'll get to "one day."

I know that feeling well.

This week reminded me that Ground & Grow was never created to offer a quick fix. It was created to give women the time, guidance and confidence to finally take that next step, with someone alongside them.

A beautiful website is part of that journey.

Learning how to manage it yourself is part of that journey.

Stepping away from everyday life, finding clarity and returning home with momentum are part of that journey too.

I've realised that I don't need to try and make Luce & Earth fit someone else's definition of what a retreat should be.

It simply needs to stay true to why I created it in the first place.

Perhaps that's true for all of us.

The things we're most proud of rarely fit neatly into someone else's box. They grow because we keep showing up, refining them, trusting the process and allowing them to become exactly what they're meant to be.

Sometimes clarity doesn't arrive all at once.

Sometimes it arrives quietly, one conversation, one small decision and one step at a time.

And I think that's a rather lovely way to grow.
