Making Time for Something Different

Rustic outdoor gathering

Life has a habit of becoming a routine. Work, family, responsibilities and all the things that need our attention can leave very little room for doing something simply because we enjoy it.

And yet, trying something new, meeting different people or spending a day away from our usual surroundings can make a real difference to how we feel.

It's something I've been thinking about a lot while developing the next chapter of Luce & Earth.

More Than a Workshop

Creativity has always been a big part of my life. Through my work as a designer, I've developed a real appreciation for colour, texture, composition and the way even the simplest materials can be brought together to create something beautiful.

More recently, a weekend spent learning pottery reminded me how enjoyable it is to be on the other side of that experience. To arrive as a beginner, learn from someone else's skills, have a go and enjoy the company of people doing the same.

It wasn't just about learning pottery. It was about the whole experience, the conversations, the shared meals and being somewhere different for a couple of days.

And that's what I'd love to bring into Gather & Grow.

Introducing Gather & Grow

Creative candle making

Over the coming months, Luce & Earth will be introducing a collection of smaller gatherings and immersive retreat days, each built around a particular theme.

Some will be creative and practical. Seasonal planting, natural candle making, festive workshops and Italian-inspired cooking, from fresh pasta and focaccia to traditional Neapolitan pizza.

An opportunity to learn a skill, work with different materials, understand a little more about colour and composition, and take home something you've made yourself.

Others will focus more closely on wellbeing.

These will be carefully planned retreat days, bringing together experienced practitioners and complementary therapies around a specific theme.

There might be opportunities to explore relaxation and restorative practices, nutrition and the food we eat, movement, personal development or simply new ways of looking after ourselves.

Rather than trying to fit everything into one day, each experience will have a clear purpose, with activities and practitioners chosen to complement one another.

Good food and hospitality will remain an important part of every gathering. My Italian heritage has certainly influenced that. Food is something to enjoy, prepare and share, and gathering around a table creates some of the best opportunities for conversation and connection.

Creating Space for Connection

Something else I've been reminded of recently is just how valuable a sense of community can be.

Spending a weekend away with friends and families, sharing conversations about real life, faith and the things we all experience, reinforced how important it is to have people around us.

We don't all need the same things from an experience.

Some people might come along to learn something new. Others may be looking to meet people, spend time with friends or have a little space away from their everyday routine.

There doesn't need to be a bigger reason than wanting to enjoy the day.

What matters is creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, comfortable and able to take something positive from the experience.

From Gatherings to Retreats

These smaller experiences will sit alongside our longer Ground & Grow retreats.

Our March retreat at Tewinbury will bring together many of the same elements over three days, with more time to explore personal growth, creativity, wellbeing and connection.

With experienced coaching, nourishing food, movement, nature and time for conversation, it's an opportunity to step away from everyday commitments and focus on what matters to you.

Whether it's a couple of hours spent creating something, a full day exploring wellbeing or a weekend away, the intention behind Luce & Earth remains the same.

To bring together people, experiences and expertise in a way that feels personal, considered and worthwhile.

What's Coming Next

Holistic and wellbeing retreats

I'm currently putting together the first Gather & Grow experiences, beginning with seasonal creative gatherings and developing a programme of themed retreat days.

There will be opportunities to make, learn, discover different approaches to wellbeing and, of course, enjoy good food and company along the way.

I'm looking forward to sharing more of the plans as they take shape.

Gather & Grow. A place to connect, create, discover and grow.
